The actual post-credits scene of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” not only introduces a new Kang, but directly sets up “Loki” season 2. After the credits finish rolling, the screen comes back to Jonathan Majors on a stage.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is no exception, featuring two end credits scenes. The first is a mid-credits scene – and it's a big one. The second is a post-credits bonus and is equally juicy, serving as a teaser trailer for one of the most hotly-anticipated future MCU releases.

So, it shouldn't come as a surprise to you to learn he's the center of both post-credit scenes of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” Yes, we said both. There are two post-credits scenes you need to be on the lookout for once the credits roll for the film.

By Quantumania's end, Ant-Man and the Wasp stopped Kang from heading into the Earth-616 universe. Instead, Wasp shoots him and pushes him into his multiversal ship's core, which explodes and drags him in.

As the camera pans up, the statues are revealed to be different versions of Kang. The scene then cuts to a room inside the arena, where three Kang variants - Immortus Kang, Pharaoh Rama-Tut and Scarlet Centurion - are discussing the death of Kang in the Quantum Realm.

To introduce Kang, really, is all Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania exists to do. In and of itself, it's a boring story devoid of meaningful stakes. The post-Endgame era of Marvel has been crying out for some kindling, something to throw the afterburners on; this is just more ugly cement.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” took a sizable hit in its sophom*ore outing at the box office. Ticket sales for the third Marvel movie starring Paul Rudd's subatomic hero were down 69% from its $105 million debut, resulting in the biggest second-weekend drop in the franchise's history.

But considering how the Multiverse Saga is shaping up, it isn't difficult to believe that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be very important to the universe's future. For starters, it will officially introduce Kang the Conqueror — the MCU's next big bad after Thanos.

While the alleged alternate ending for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania apparently involved Scott and Hope not making it out of the Quantum Realm and even Kang possibly escaping his interdimensional confinement, Chisholm says that was never an option, meaning Ant-Man 3 was intended to end the way it did all along.

In the finale he encountered a man who calls himself He Who Remains. He Who Remains is, as you may have guessed, played by Majors and is also … a Kang variant!

There hasn't been any official confirmation of a fourth Ant-Man film yet. After the post-credits scenes in Quantumania, it was confirmed that "Kang will return" - but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be facing Scott Lang again any time soon.
