The crafty Armenian developer, Peter & Sons, proves yet again how competent they are in the audiovisual department. Valkyries is loosely based on the famous Wagner opera, Die Walküre, and the game plays out in a beautifully crafted opera theater stage. All the animations and the opera singing ladies are choreographed masterfully, and you don’t really need to be a huge opera fan to enjoy what’s going on here.
You have to tolerate that kind of singing to get the most out of Valkyries though, as it’s hardly the same with the sounds turned off. The Power Reel awards very adequate compensation for near-miss 2 scatter hits, as this will often turn into several Dropping and Locking Wild respins that can lead to decent base game payouts. Everything is enhanced when the Power Reel is active on all free spins, and this is how you’re most likely to crack the 20,000x potential.

Review Summary
We doubt the average slot player has a huge thing for classic opera, and neither do we for that matter. That being said however, we really enjoyed what Peter and his highly competent sons have done here. Valkyries is nothing short of an audiovisual masterpiece, and the mix of dropping and locking multiplier wilds can be highly effective on a good day.
Is it enough to turn hordes of hardcore gamblers into avid opera fans over night? Probably not, but you have to be very anti-opera to not enjoy this beautifully crafted installment. The choreography is breathtaking, and we get a bit of a Wes Anderson vibe from this whole thing. It ain’t over till the fat lady sings, as they say, and she’s singing to the tune of 20,000x your stake in this highly volatile and unique Peter & Sons production.
