Amy, Third Sister

Amy is one of four invaders that spawn at the end of Millicent’s quest and will only appear if you’ve been following it until its end. You can find them by teleporting to the Drainage Channel site of grace, and heading west up the ladder. In the open area with the flowers, climb up the northwestern slope, killing the Prawn on your way, and head to the top of the hill. In the southwest corner, look down to find a tree branch to jump on to. Follow it to then end and jump over to the area with the Scarlet Rot pond.

Each sister will wield a different weapon, and they’ll try to gang up on you so back away and let Millicent start the battle and pick them off one by one. Although they don’t drop any items themselves, you’ll be rewarded well with a Rotten Winged Sword Insignia if you helped Millicent or Millicent’s Prosthesis if you didn’t.

Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree

The second fight against Loretta can be found by using the unlocked elevator from the southeastern exit of the Haligtree Town site of grace. To unlock the elevator, you’ll need to take the northwestern exit and follow the ladder down and make your way across the rooftops until you reach the area with the sorcerers.

The fight itself is almost identical to the previous encounter other than she’ll have more health and more damage output. If you can remember, in the Caria Manor version she was spectral, in this battle, she’ll be the real deal. Your reward for defeating her this time around will be Loretta’s Mastery, and Loretta’s War Sickle.

Malenia, Blade of Miquella

One of the tougher bosses in the game and tied to Millicent’s quest, although you don’t need to do it to fight her. She wields a lengthy katana called the Hand of Malenia, and its skill: Waterfowl Dance is a multi-hit attack that can be difficult to avoid. Furthermore, in phase 2 she can deal approximately 70-80% of your health through some of her attacks, even if you’re wearing the heaviest of armors. She is weak to blood loss and quite susceptible to stagger as well as magic, fire and lightning able to deal some decent damage to her.

To get to Malenia, you’ll need to head through the eastern archway from the Drainage Channel site of grace. From there follow the northeastern branches and platforms to the bottom where you’ll be able to enter a church type of building. Follow the prawn-infested hallway to the northeast and take the elevator down where you’ll find the Haligtree Roots site of grace.

Polyanna wields the Blade of Calling.

Putrid Avatar (Elphael Inner Wall, Haligtree)

This Erdtree Avatar is located just outside the Elphael Inner Wall site of grace. Go outside the northeastern archway, and it’ll be standing there with two Haligtree Knights. This is a terrible fight, and you should use every cheap trick in your arsenal to defeat it. This area was not made for a fight like this due to the nature of its small area and abundance of other tough enemies nearby. There are a couple of things you can do to make things easier. Inside the church, there is a ladder which leads above the Avatar where with the right aiming using ranged attacks or magic, you can deal some damage to it. You can also lure it back, past the site of grace where it can’t reach you, but it will repeatedly fire off projectiles at you then reset back to its original location.

It has broad sweeping attacks, slam combos, and a jump attack which spews deadly Scarlet Rot (also capable of killing you in one hit) in one direction. The basic attacks are easy enough to learn, but you’ll need to make sure that you always keep your distance from the jumps, since you can’t always predict where the Scarlet Rot will come from. If you rely on blocking attacks with your shield, most if not all of your stamina will be depleted. Your reward for defeating it will be a Lord’s Rune.

Putrid Avatar (Prayer Room, Haligtree)

Another Erdtree Avatar, another terrible fight. This particular version can be found patrolling the large bridge to the east when exiting the Prayer Room site of grace from the northeast. To get over to it, you’ll need to take the northeastern exit from the Prayer Room, and follow the balcony north whilst defeating the many enemies along the way. If you look to the east, you’ll see platforms leading over to the pillars, when you reach the pillar, drop to the ledge below, then jump over to the bridge. You can use any of the pillars to make your way across.

Defeating the Putrid Avatar will reward you with a Rotten Staff, but the real reason you want to come over here is for the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone on the corpse at the south end of the bridge. There is also a Numen’s Rune handing over the side near the middle of the bridge too.

Just past the Putrid Avatar is an Ancient Somber Smithing Stone.

Putrid Tree Spirit

Just when you thought you were done with these, another one appears out of nowhere. What makes this worse, is you’ll have to fight it in or around a Scarlet Rot pond. You can find it by teleporting to the Drainage Channel site of grace, and heading west up the ladder. In the open area with the flowers, climb up the northwestern slope, killing the Prawn on your way, and head to the top of the hill. In the southwest corner, look down to find a tree branch to jump on to. Follow it to then end and jump over to the area with the Scarlet Rot pond. Approach the pond to spawn the monstrosity. You’ll be rewarded with a Golden Seed for your troubles. There is a Great Grave Glovewort [10] in the middle of the pond, but you don’t need to kill the Tree Spirit to obtain it.

Lake Of Rot

We recommend level 80-90 for taking on the Lake Of Rot, but honestly it won't hurt you to do a bit of rune farming before this point, because the Lake Of Rot is hard. It's Elden Ring's great big poisonous swamp area, and so it's very slow going for the most part.
